2017 Studio Policy
Please read the conditions carefully below.
Current students must fill in the form and return it as acknowledgment and acceptance of these terms.
Instrument + Resources
The student’s instrument should be kept playable and in good condition to allow for use during lessons and independent practice. Advice on instrument servicing, and assistance in assessing the quality of a new or used cello, can be provided.
Students are responsible for purchasing their own original copies of books and materials. Alternatively bulk online orders can be coordinated and an invoice will be issued for reimbursement.
Some materials can be borrowed for an agreed period of time. Borrowed materials must be replaced with an identical copy if they are lost or damaged.
Students wishing to use internet, books and other musical resources for research, homework, general knowledge preparation or theory lessons can do so before or after their lesson with permission.
Payment + Cancellations
Lessons are organised and paid for in advance as per the terms of the invoice.
Students can choose to schedule lessons one month or one term in advance (according to the Queensland State School calendar). Lessons will take place during school term, and on pupil free days, but not on weekends or public holidays.
Optional school holiday lessons can also be scheduled and invoiced separately.
Payment can be settled by cash, online bank transfer, or EFTPOS - a portable card reader is available for convenience.
Fees are subject to change according to the recommendations made by the Music Teachers Association of Queensland of which Isabella is a Professional Member. Current prices are set at the 2014 rate.
Unless there are exceptional circumstances, 24 hours notice must be given to cancel or reschedule a lesson.
If 24 hours notice is given, or if the teacher cancels the lesson, the student can opt to roll the lesson over to the next invoice period, schedule an alternative lesson time for that week, or request a refund for that lesson.
Please note: if the student has been absent from school or work due to a contagious illness then they should not attend their music lesson.
Please enter through the patio door and close it behind you.
Please consider the privacy of the teacher's home. Students and family/guardians are welcome to wait in the living room and access tea and water in the kitchen. The guest bathroom is located opposite the studio. Please do not use the back door, access other parts of the house, or access any of the audio equipment in the living room.
Students can be dropped off five minutes before their lesson and should be picked up within ten minutes of their lesson finishing. Students and siblings are always welcome to quietly do their homework or read while waiting to be picked up. Please ask for a copy of the Child Safety Risk Management Strategy for more information.
Street parking is available - please do not use the driveway out of courtesy to the neighbours. There is an additional carpark behind the Bowls Club (directly opposite) and plenty of surrounding parkland to explore while waiting for lessons to finish.
Thank you for your consideration!
